Patrick here. Apologies for how long it has been since I've updated the blog but we've been ON THE ROAD!!!!!
And what a time it's been! The shows have been going great. Fitz is still on a doctor ordered 'half-vocal-rest' but we've really been sculpting some of our tunes.
Jason was already down in BAMA for a wedding (no ladies, not his) when Fitz and I made the 15 hour drive down to MACON, GEORGIA to play Mercer College. We passed a milestone while playing. Yes! PBF has been censored for the very first time! Who knew Mercer was affiliated with a religious institution?! Not any of the members of PBF! Now you might be asking yourself what PBF songs are vulgar or inappropriate for a general audience. Well, none,.... but you play 'F*^$ Her Gently' and before you know it our host is appearing on stage with us. So for the next two minutes Jason was gonna 'lovin love' you hard. And surely he did. As well did his parents who were in the audience viewing their first PBF show EVER!!! Now, I don't know how many fans out there know Jason's parents but PBF gives a lot of credit to Jason's dad; 'BIG SID' for puttin some backbone into the band. He's the one who taught us that we can do 'the shit' out of anything. Plus, that guy got us wasted in one of the smokiest dive bars I've ever seen in the south where Jason and I ripped it up on some karaoke! God bless you Sid!
Then it was back up to Hartford, Connecticut to play St. Joseph's College! This was our second time playing for the students there. We played with a couple bands from the Northeast including a band called Stealing Jane from Long Island who were great. This show was really good but the room we were in was horrible for sound. Oh well..... The show was still good. Afterwards I was approached by a girl who had seen the show. Instead of the usual, 'Can I buy a cd?' or 'Can I have your autograph?' she looks at my growing afro and ponders; 'Can I stick this pen in your hair and see if it gets stuck?' It did. Thanx girl!
The next night, back in the city, we played the Pig 'n' Whistle. The show was excellent as always. To tell you the truth, I think we're starting to break the max. occupancy code in there. We all wanna say THANX to all you fans who have made that place such a great time for us over the years! The craziest thing from that night was when an old friend from back in Greece surprised us with a visit! Manoli, the man of the people, for any of you who own the first cut of 'POST NO BILLS', showed up and stayed the whole night! This was a blast for us as we didn't know he was gonna be there and it was our pleasure to play him one our newest songs which has become my favorite 'hands down' at our live shows; 'From Kos with Love'. If you follow our songs closely or you know the band well you might recognize some of the references made in that song. Surely our friend Manoli did.
Two days later we were off to one of the most beautiful settings we've seen since Lake Placid, NY. New London, Connecticut has some of the most scenic land in the northeast. At Univ. of Conn.,Avery Point they have a wonderful view of the Long Island Sound. At noon we started playing for the students in a small room but the sound was immaculate! Once again some highlights from that show were 'From Kos with Love' and 'I'm through with Runnin' Around'. THANX UCONN!
The next night was up in scenic Poughkeepsie, NY at Marist College. We had a blast up there! The show was great and we'll most likely be heading back up there in the fall! (Apparently a lot of the students might also make it down to our gig at the Dockside Pub in Mahopac, NY on March 30th!) A few good friends of the pieboys; (Tim Blane, Rebecca Loebe) have played there a few times before and Marist has a great reputation forming among the artists that play there! THANX!!!!!!!
And finally, last night we played Emmanuel College up in Boston! Once again we dazzled the audience with our rendition of 'F*^$ Her Gently' by Tenacious D. In all actuality, our largest audience from the tour so far seemed to love the show. We had a dance contest to 'Wipe Out'. This was much cleaner then the dancing usually done in NYC since there was no booze around!

THANX Emmanuel!
And the tour moves on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
