 Here. There. Where are we?

Sgoin on. We're back in new york! The first half of March has been spent in the van. When we weren't at the slopes or on stage we were in the van listening to a lot of ZZ Top. On the first of the month we played a very private, public show at Mount Ida College the night after Emmanuel. An old mansion in Newton, Mass was turned into Mount Ida College. The wooden room we played in was great. Although he turn out was kinda small it was still well received by the few and passers-by.

After we left Boston, we headed to North Conway, NH for five days of snowboarding and shows. Attitash ski resort has a large venue called Ptarnigan's pub right at the base of the mountain. This show was excellent. The room was surprisingly good for sound and the crowd liked it a lot. It SHALNT be too long before we're back up there. We got to snowboard and ski for a couple of days which was a blast. We hit up an open mic at the Red Parka where we will hopefully be playing when we get back up there. His name escapes me now but the dude (guitarplayer) who ran the night just got down with these drummers. It was awesome!

We made it down to Henniker, NH to play New England College where we discovered a new sport called 'EXTREME CONCERT VIEWING'. We had some excited young audience members at this show that didn't like how some other listeners were enjoying PBF sitting down. See, they thought that you can only enjoy PBF standing, gyrating, or in a seizure-like state on the bar room floor, but yes! You can enjoy PBF on your ass too. Hey!....I mean,...I'm just a regular jack. I love enthused listeners but these kids were enthused! ENTHUSED!

"HEY! Get up! All you people get up! This is a concert! You don't sit at a concert! Yeah! Oh yeah."

I loved that.

We trekked our way out through a WalMart in the middle of no where after the show for some food and laxatives (Don't. Please.) after the show that night and headed back to N. Conway the next day. We ate more sushi than I've ever eaten before and played Delaney's our last night on that leg of the tour. Delaney's was great. That was our second time playing there and the audience grew this time. It's sort of a small town up there and they really came out that week! THANX NORTH CONWAY!!! One other fairly strange thing happened. I don't remember his name but there was a gentleman at Delaney's that also saw us the first time we played there. Two days after the first show he left for the far east and arrived back home in N. Conway the day before our second show. Missing his old dank bar he strolled back down to Delaney's for a drink and lo and behold,.... there are the pieboys. And now I'm in Virginia writing this blog and watching Midnight Express on AMC which reminds me of PBF's trip to Istanbul which 'NO' I will not recall here. Coincidence?

We arrived back in nyc, after passing time reminiscing about the ceremonial burning of fitz's hat in the snow and how my clothes got stuck on the ski lift and almost carried me back down the mountain.
But all was not so well. Unfortunately, we were plagued by another trip to the doctor. Due to some hemorrhaging, Fitz will require another procedure where they cauterize a small vein in his vocal chords using some very high-tec lasers. Sounds crazy but the outcome hoped for is that there will be less swelling and no more hemorrhages. We canceled a couple of shows and Fitz won't be singing for a few weeks but we should be up and running full by our leg of the tour in April. Actually I'm having some follow up work done at the dentist so we're all getting a little maintenance!!!

Two nights ago we went up to Northampton, Mass. to play Smith College. We had some issues with their sound system but the show had some really interesting moments. An extended version of From Kos With Love was a highlight. We came back to the city yesterday and played at the pig. Even though the driving conditions were some of the worst I've ever seen in new york a LOT of people made it out and made it SOOOOO WORTH IT!!!!! THANX yALL!!!!!!!!!

We've got a little break from playing right now but we'll be back at the pinch 'n' tickle on the 31st and in the WIDE OPEN SPACES of the MID WEST in APRIL!!!!!!!!!!
LATER!!!!!!!!
